As the 2020 election season begins – and boy it will be a long one -- I want to take a step back and jot down some thoughts and ideas I have going into an intensive Democratic primary, followed by an incredibly important general election in 2020.
My mission in starting Marion Street Strategies was to make data more accessible for all. One of the key steps is to lower (if not remove completely) the barrier of entry by outlining simple, achievable steps organizations can take to be data-driven. With that in mind, I jotted down the following four-step game plan to getting started, with both my friend and these types of organizations in mind.
Talking a moment to reflect on 2018, the business of running a business has been just as interesting to me as the actual Data and Analytics work (which I love as well). I’ve taken a step back to inventory some of the processes, check lists and to do’s I’ve created during the various stages of getting up and running.
The study considers some of the most common issues pollsters and politicos alike draw on to sway voters, in comparison with online readership habits as captured and aggregated with Parse.ly’s Currents dashboard. To add some perspective, we’ve also visualized the volume of page views to articles about these core issues against a selection of non-political national stories.
